Beckonvale is a smaller neighborhood in the Village of Sterling Ridge. Tucked back in the Village of Sterling Ridge, Beckonvale is 

• 13 minute drive from I45 and the Town Center
• 13 minutes from the intersection of 2978 and FM 1478 in Magnolia
• 18 minutes west on Kukendahyl Road to Highway 2920 in Spring. 

As I drove into the neighborhood of Beckonvale, I immediately noticed a beautiful little park located directly to my right. Complete with a gazebo and children's play equipment. Beckonvale residents share the park with the adjacent neighborhood of Bantom Woods.

Beckonvale's homes were built by Lifeforms in 2001-2004 and are currently priced in the $500K's. Five homes are actively listed in the mid $500K's. In the past year homes in Beckonvale with elevations displaying a combination of brick, stone and stucco have sold on the average of $120.00 price per square foot within about 25 days. With 5-6 bedrooms, many have a master bedroom and an additional guest bedroom down, three to four bedrooms up with 4-5.5 bathrooms and two to three car tandem garages. The homes are primarily two story homes that include a game room up and beautiful pools in spacious backyards. Lots measure an average of 12,000-15,000 square feet, which is considerably large for The Woodlands.

When I drove up to his home, Jordan was planting pansies in the front flowerbeds for his wife, Karen. Jordan has lived with Karen and their two daughters in Beckonvale since 2002. As one of the very first owners they bought their home on Elfen Way from the builder. In fact, they built the pool prior to moving in and were able to roll the cost of the pool construction into their mortgage. What appealed to Jordan and his family was the floor plan of their home that included the master and an extra bedroom down for visiting elderly family.

 When Jordan initially moved to Beckonvale their kids were young and it was a friendly place to meet and socialize, but as the girls grew up Jordan reports that the activity has quieted down. Jordan and his family love their home and are not planning to move anytime soon. If they did move to another area of The Woodlands Jordan would prefer to be located upfront, on the east side near Interstate 45close to the golf course. However, he did note that with the new Target and Home Depot located off of 2978 in Magnolia, Beckonvale is in close proximity to all the amenities that his family needs.

Ronna lives on Heather Bank Place with her husband Neil and two children. They moved to The Woodlands from California in 2004 to Beckonvale. They considered Sugarland, but fell in love with The Woodlands. She loved the trees, lack of huge signage and was attracted to Congregation Beth Shalom, the Jewish synagogue. Neil and Ronna were anxious to get involved in the Jewish Community in The Woodlands. 

The floor plan of their home also appealed to Ronna and her family. The master and guest room down with 4 additional bedrooms and a game room up provided plenty of room for out of town family to visit. With lots of living spaces, Neil is able to comfortably office out of his home. Their daughter attends the 9^th grade campus and their son in his last year as a sixth grader at Coulson Tough Elementary. Ronna has been very pleased with the educational experiences her children have had so far.

 Unlike Jordan, Ronna can't get over how social their neighborhood is. One of their neighbors sets up a big screen projector on the garage door and all the kids watch movies together. It's like a drive-in movie without the cars! The neighbors gathered for a huge potluck dinner a few nights just after hurricane Ike leaning on each other for emotional support as many did not have family nearby. Ronna is not planning on moving anytime soon, but the only downside of the Beckonvale neighborhood is that it can take up to 20 minutes to get to Interstate 45. However, their home, neighborhood and quality of life far outweigh their wish to shorten the drive into Houston.
